Miss sold payment protection insurance?

hi. My partner took out an �8,000 loan with Lloyds tsb 3years ago, the loan has been repaid but want to claim it back on the grounds of miss sold insurance. How do we go about this? do we get intouch with the baank first or of these t.v adverts you see on the tv and any recommended 1s to go through?
