Seniors: when you were a kid were your toys "in season"?

When I was a kid in the 50's and 60's toys had seasons. There was a certain time for marbles, yoyos, kites, pea shooters, bird whistles, and so on. Wow behold the poor soul who was out of step, he/she was branded with "cooties".
