How can I ask a girl out?

I'm going into freshmen next year and she's going into 8th, it's a very small school so they are all combined (30 people in the schools combined) she's a cute brunette with glasses, I am starting to go to the school next year and will be the only freshmen, and the only male in the high school, it will be my first year attending the school (I was attending the school for testing for only 3 days). Naturally I'm nervous and have the fear of rejection, my last girlfriend was in the 3rd grade, and she was my best friends little sister. (was not serious at all I still believed in "cooties"). Also her best friend is my best friend's old neighbor o.O, so it might be a little weird. Thanks for your support, William.
